S3 - Rebranding an agency
“This agency doesn’t ego pander and it certainly doesn’t think small.”
S3 underwent a rebrand in 2020 with a full brand launch at the turn of the new year of 2021. Following an expansive brand research period which saw the whole team involved in gathering visual elements, thoughts and feelings on how staff wanted the brand to be perceived as well several opportunities to illustrate brand concepts through their own illustrative means.
All these key resources were gathered and a brand strategy was assembled by the strategic specialists. Before the design team was briefed in and the core visual brand assets were created.

The strategy
From the brand strategy phase, a key slogan was produced - “Where the little bite big” one of the fundamental aims of this rebrand was to change how potential clients thought when working with smaller businesses. This was birthed by the fact that while S3 was indeed successful and attracting new business, we were still a relatively small team of around 35. This ideal could then be transposed either way - agency to client or client to agency, S3 would in turn also champion the underdogs, the unlikely and the overlooked.
This is where the little bite big.

The elements
The brand needed to be impactful, it needed to adaptable and it needed adhere to that initial concept of ‘biting big’ with these guidelines in mind, the creative team assembled a library of core assets starting with the bold and vibrant colour scheme that would set the tone and foundation of any branded assets used. A set of illustrative icons were created along side a contemporary assortment of patterns that would act as backgrounds and framing devices.
